While obviously current on the practice of medicine, Dr Hananel is easy to talk to, and takes the time to listen. I can’t imagine a better combination of attributes for a doctor, or a person. As an added benefit, he has a wonder sense of humor. At our first meeting, when I shook hands, I rolled his hand over and looked at it. With a funny look, he ask why. This Doctor saved my life. I neglected warnings for prostate cancer (psi test ) because I didn't feel any problems. Dr. Vincent Kau told me I had no choice that my levels were too high so I finally agreed to see him. After a couple of test I was told to go to start treatments right away. I kept all of my appointments until i was finally told I was Cancer Free. Dr. Alan E. Hananel, is the best urologist I've ever visited. He has an excellent bedside manner, is extremely knowledgeable and very to the point with his diagnosis and recommendations for treatment. He was recommended several years ago by my PCP, as he is as well a patient of Dr. Hananel's. If you can't get along with Dr. Hananel, look in the mirror, there within may lie the problem...! I was able to get in same day for UTI as a new patient. I filled out the paperwork and was promptly moved to an exam room. I did not wait longer than 5 minutes for the doctor. After talking he gave me some samples to address my situation which was great. He also scheduled a scope and ultrasound for the next day, so I knew he really understood my pain. I have been seeing Dr. Hananel for about three years now. He is a fantastic doctor who knows urology inside out. He is thorough, to the point, and doesn't beat around the bush or mince words about any issue. I don't usually rank with a 5 start rating but in this instance it's appropriate. Dr Hananel and his staff are awesome! I was seen quickly probably within 5-10 minutes of my arrival. Doctor Hananel spent quality time with me. He was very patient and upbeat. He asked questions about my healing and overall health. He was interested in the whole person. I appreciated the professionalism of the staff. They were very attentive, patient, courteous, kind, thorough and friendly (they treated me like a friend); I could tell (Having been a CS person for over 40 years) they’re dedicated to giving the best service. I celebrate their team effort.
