Lara Matheson MD provides compassionate urologic care for men and women

Lara Matheson MD is interested in all types of urology issues related to men’s and women’s health. Patients appreciate her thoughtful care, her approachability, and her genuine interest in their health and well-being. She has advanced training in robotic, laparoscopic and reconstructive surgery from leaders in the field. Her clinical interests include the treatment of prostate cancer, kidney surgery, kidney stones and reconstructive surgery for men and women at all ages and stages of life. Dr. Lara Matheson has been part of our team of Houston urologists since finishing her residency training in 2018.

Dr. Lara Matheson was educated at esteemed universities

Dr. Matheson graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering, graduating with “highest distinction.” She earned her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, TN. For her internship in general surgery and her residency in urologic surgery, Lara Matheson MD stayed in Nashville at prestigious Vanderbilt University.

When she’s not working, our hard-working urologist enjoys sports and hobbies

Raised in Pittsburgh, Dr. Lara Matheson enjoys the snow and snowboarding. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, running and cooking. Dr. Matheson is a member of several professional organizations, including the Society of Women in Urology and the American Urologic Association.
