Introducing Dr. Linh Do, our highly trained and skilled urogynecologist

 Quite often, women are too embarrassed or ashamed to see a physician about symptoms they experience due to pelvic organ prolapse or urinary incontinence. The newest member of our team of Houston urologists, Dr. Linh Do, brings her unique skills in urogynecology to the Houston community of women. She hopes to not only diagnose and treat pelvic health issues, but also to educate women about these problems and how treatment can improve their quality of life. 

Linh Do MD has a notable educational background 

 Dr. Do received her Bachelor of Science degree in physics and chemistry from Houston Baptist University. She completed both her medical degree and her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Texas Health Science Center in El Paso. After she completed her training and became a board-certified OBGYN, she decided to pursue a fellowship in pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. She moved to Oklahoma City to continue her training at as a urogynecologist at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. In her three years there, she also earned a Master of Science degree in clinical and translational science.  

 Linh Do MD chose a career as a urogynecologist during her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology.  

 “During my residency, I found that I was more inclined toward a surgical specialty, and I picked up surgical skills quickly,” she says. “Urogynecology is a relatively new field that addresses a lot of issues that women don’t often speak about. I like to address those issues that I feel have been neglected in terms of women’s health.” 

Dr. Do looks forward to empowering women through treatment and education 

 Bringing urogynecology care to the women in her area of Houston excites Dr. Linh Do.  

 “I’m excited to provide my services to the patients in this region,” she says. “I don’t think there is easy access to urogynecology in this area, and my presence offers easier access to care, particularly for older patients. I’m also looking forward to educating patients about pelvic health. In this area, there are many Asian women, and many of them think that pelvic health issues are a normal part of aging. I want to educate them and improve their quality of life, to empower them to do whatever they desire at this point in their lives.”
